Latest Updates from Our Project:

Plugging Away At Fulfillment and It's Goin' Great!
9 months ago – Sat, Jan 27, 2024 at 10:34:58 AM

Hello Tarot Fans!

Here's a detailed update on where I am at with fulfillment. TLDR: if your card is up to date, I'm slowly working through and charging cards for shipping. Once your card is charged, you can expect your tracking info in the next day or two. Please send questions by messaging me here or emailing [email protected].

I started slow and in small batches to give myself room to make mistakes and learn how to fix them. This has served me well and I've learned a lot about how BackerKit works! I'm packing each order individually and checking it to make sure it reflects what is on the packing slip. It's not hard, just takes time and I promise I am working as efficiently and diligently as I can!

Shipping Numbers

As of right now, 93 orders have been fulfilled and I have 80 in the hopper to go out in the next few days for a total of 173 packages in the works. That's roughly half of the orders! That 93 number includes Local Pick-ups that are now at their destination and ready for their Backers.

Since the orders now are mostly single decks with maps or double decks with maps, I'm organizing each batch by weight and then US versus International. When I charge for shipping, it's easier to purchase labels and keep track of orders when everyone's the same package type. (I don't need to hit the gym for the next couple weeks because fulfillment and finishing up cloth prints has been a serious work out!

You will know I am working on your deck when BackerKit charges your card for shipping. You should be notified of the charge to your card. If your card doesn't go through, Backer Kit will send you an email to update your card information and once that is done, I can circle back to charge the card and package your order. There are also some Kickstarter pledges that didn't go through but if your payment info is up to date, BackerKit can charge you the full cost of the pledge which is pretty cool! Just make sure your card is up to date. When a card is declined, I just move on to the next order and can circle back when the card is updated, no sweat!

Single Deck People

I've seen a little confusion about the single deck shipments. My apologies! Those orders don't include any maps (cloth or poster). I did those first because I'm still finishing cloth maps in the serger so it was most efficient to send things out that were just a deck and nothing else (US Backers only in that batch). I've now started on single decks with maps!

The best way to see if your order includes maps is to check your BackerKit link, which is specific to you and should be in the email you used to place your order. Those two add-ons were automatically added to anyone who backed the Kickstarter at no extra cost since we raised extra funds! (It also didn't increase your shipping costs either since I'm shipping priority flat rate.) I know you filled out your surveys a while ago so I think some people either forgot or didn't notice they got them for free—no worries and sorry for the confusion! I hope you enjoy the extra bonus items :)

Local Pick-up Coordination

My LP people have gotten emails to coordinate their pick-ups. I notice some people use a relay email, so if that's you maybe reach out to me directly? I'm not sure the relay email always works. If you have questions, email me at [email protected].

Extra Decks

I have gotten a lot of messages about where people can buy the deck or buy extra decks. I'm SO grateful people are excited to purchase one! I am working on the fulfillment first since y'all deserve your promised decks first. Then I will release the deck on my website and at the Mall in Robinson at the I Made It Market store. You can sign up for my emails on my website for when I announce. If you are a shop that wants to carry my deck, email me at [email protected].

Reaching Out

Never hesitate to reach out! I am more than happy to look up your order or answer any questions. Please use either Kickstarter messages (which emails me) or email me directly at [email protected]. I'm struggling to stay on top of messages on other platforms. Email or KS message is perfect!

The Future

  • Any unclaimed orders will live at my studio while I try to get a hold of you. Hopefully you see this and reach out :)
  • I am consider printing more decks. I currently have ~500 decks to sell after fulfilling orders but based on the response I think I might run out faster than I expected. (Thank you <3)
  • After the mass fulfillment I am planning on laying down on the ground and not moving for a while lol.

I hope this has been helpful! Please continue to ask questions if you have them! :)

Reminder: I'll be out of town from February 1 through 5th, returning to work on the 6th.

More Shipping Updates!
9 months ago – Wed, Jan 17, 2024 at 11:15:50 AM

Hello Tarot Fans!

I have done some test batches of shipments to make sure everything goes smoothly and so far so good. Here is my plan between now and until the last deck is sent out.

  1. I've shipped out orders to backers who ONLY ordered tarot decks and no maps. Those packages are all out as the first wave of test batches. Be on the look out in the next two to three days for your deck! HMU if you have any issues or questions.
  • Next I'm working through people who ordered two decks and some combination of maps (poster / cloth or both). These are a manageable little test chunk as well. I hope to have those to the post office by Monday, January 22nd or earlier.
  • Then I'll put together local pick-up orders and coordinate with those backers. We now have THREE locations to do pick-ups! I'll send all that info directly to you via email.
  • The largest group are people who ordered one deck and one or both maps. I'll work on those orders as I finish off cloths maps in batches of 40 and will keep going until they are done!
  • International orders and the block of 10 decks will be done last.
  • My goal is to have everything out of my hands and into yours by Valentine's Day. I like having a timeline to work towards :)

US SHIPPING RATES

  • US based backers who got a single deck and any combination of map(s) are charged $8.80 for priority shipping + any taxes. (Some states charge sales tax on shipping which is separate from regular sales tax... fun times haha.)
  • US based backers who got two decks and any combination of map(s) are charged $14.75 + any taxes.
  • Become-A-Card Backers will get the art print of their card separate from their tarot deck & maps at not extra shipping cost.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING RATES

Note: This doesn't include VAT or Duty costs that you might incur.

CANADA

  • One deck + Maps: $18.50 (+tax/duty)
  • Two Decks + Maps: $21.82 (+tax/duty)

REST OF THE WORLD

  • One deck + Maps: $23.00 (+tax/duty)
  • Two Decks + Maps: $31.00 (+tax/duty)

OUT OF OFFICE INFO

I'm leaving Pittsburgh for a long weekend on Thursday February 1st and return back to work on Tuesday February 6th. I won't be working on anything or answering messages during that time (it's my mom's birthday that weekend and I will be focused on her). I'll get back to everyone on the 6th!

NOTE ABOUT CLOTH MAPS

  • The cloths are assigned at random and are a variety of cloth types and ink colors. I can't guarantee what you will get. They are all really cool. I wanted them to look like a hand drawn kinda treasure map and I think I succeeded! They look kinda aged and hand printed (because they are handprinted) lol! They might have some imperfections form the printing process, (see below, this doesn't have border stitching yet).

Quick update about local pick-up.

1) My inital local pick-up spot fell through. I’ll now be doing local pick-up either at my studio at Radiant Hall in McKees Rocks or at The I Made It store in The Mall at Robinson when I’m at each location. I can coordinate with you all accordingly when I have the local pick-up packages completed.

2) If you put in your mailing address instead of selecting local pick up, I can reset your address to local pick-up—send me a message. Otherwise, if you have an address in there when I add on shipping profiles, you will be charged for shipping.

If you have questions let me know!

Head Up: Your Cards Will Be Charged Soon! CHECK YOUR ADDRESS!

This mean, the decks are here!

SHIPPING UPDATE

Now that I have decks and the add-ons all in one place, I'm putting together packages to get the weight and dimensions for different shipping profiles. Once I have those shipping profiles figured out, I will send out an update about the cost you can expect to be charged. The cheapest that shipping will be based on my initial research is roughly $9 for a single deck and $15 for two decks for US based backers (with cloth maps and paper maps in there). Look out for that update by early next week.

Cards will be charged in waves as I get orders together. You will be charged for shipping and any additional add-ons you might have purchased (a tarot reading for example) at the same time.

While I'm getting a little bit of help from Sarah (thank you!!) it is mostly me going through each order to make sure it's correct, applying the shipping profiles and charing the cards so please be patient.

I'm also simultaneously finishing up the cloth maps. I have about 188 printed out of 350 (our next printing day is the 14th) and they still need the edges to be finished. I just bought a serger and will be working on those. As I finish them, they will go into packages.

For Local Pick-up: I will be setting your packages aside in my studio. I can meet up with you either at my studio in McKees Rocks or at the Mall at Robinson when I'm there. Let me know your preference! (My initial local pick-up spot fell through, so hopefully this works.)

This process will be slow because I want to be careful and make sure everything is correct to try and prevent issues down the line. Thank you for your patience!!

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Make sure your address is correct. Make sure your survey is complete. If you don't, it REALLY complicates things. Looking at the survey results, most of you should be good to go but there are still some stragglers. If the information isn't complete I can't send your things!

Please contact me with any questions!

Pictures of Map Printing
10 months ago – Mon, Dec 18, 2023 at 06:19:08 AM

We spent all day at AIR Pittsburgh printing these yesterday. After spending so much time trying to get the white ink to work (lots of successful prints but a lot of garbage unfortunately) we switched to a dark ink that went SO WELL! I still pulled at least 300 passes on prints though so my lats are cooked haha. I'm convinced they look better in person :) You can follow me on IG for more fabric printing adventures.

Both AIR where I print and FABSCRAP where I bought fabric have been incredibly generous with their time and expertise to get this project over the finish line. This was an add-on idea that came from a Kickstarter backer for this project that could only have happened with their assistance.

Do me a favor and support AIR helping artists like me bring their projects to life. You can donate, follow them on IG, get your next art prints done there, learn how to print there, or just come to a show!!

You can find FABSCRAP here and on Instagram here. If you do anything with fabric or clothing materials, they are an amazing resource.
